ABOUT THIS DAIRY

Born in Thailand, Dew (Zweed Dairy) is an editorial and publishing designer based in Wurundjeri/Naarm (Melbourne), currently studying at RMIT University. His practice explores experimental and material-driven approaches to publishing, with a focus on print as both a visual and tactile medium.

Working across artist books, zines, and small-scale publications, Dew is interested in how design can document and preserve everyday cultural narratives. His projects often engage with alternative production methods—such as risograph, cyanotype, and textile-based processes—creating outcomes that extend beyond conventional formats.

With an emphasis on structure, material, and process, his work approaches publishing as a way of thinking, making, and storytelling. Each project is developed through research and experimentation, aiming to produce publications that are not only read, but physically experienced.

His ongoing work explores the relationship between typography, cultural memory, and the material conditions of print, with a focus on small, personal, and often
overlooked stories.

PROJECT-003

DESCRIPTION

Let’s Talk It Out explores the fragility of dialogue in conflict through a hand-drawn flipbook that visualises language as unstable and shifting over time. The phrase gradually forms, distorts, and breaks down into near-illegible marks before attempting to reconstruct itself, reflecting how communication can falter under tension. The looping sequence resists resolution, suggesting that dialogue is cyclical and often incomplete. Through its imperfect, tactile marks, the work positions communication not as clarity, but as an ongoing process of negotiation where even fragmented exchanges can lead toward understanding.
